Help Box's Place Become a Reality

Msgr. J. Jerome Boxleitner Place, or Box’s Place, will provide an innovative combination of emergency beds and permanent housing to help people who are homeless regain stability. The variety of housing options in one location eases the transition into a home for those experiencing long-term homelessness.

Catholic Charities' newest housing facility will replace Secure Waiting Space, a crowded emergency shelter in downtown Minneapolis where 125 adults sleep on mats and 126 in Pay-for-Stay bunk beds. Box's Place will offer increased services and more beds to serve more people experiencing homelessness.
 Box's Place
  Box’s Place Will Create:
  • 36 Permanent Supportive Housing Units
  • 38 Permanent Safe Haven Units
  • 120 Shelter Beds
  • 80 Pay-for-Stay Beds
  • 11 Efficiency Units
Box’s Place is named for Monsignor J. Jerome Boxleitner, Director Emeritus of Catholic Charities. Serving the public for more than 50 years, Msgr. Boxleitner has devoted his life to working for the common good.

Help us take an important step to ending long-term homelessness in our community and improving the lives of hundreds who’ve lived on the streets for years. Help Box’s Place become a reality.

Housing applications will not be accepted until February 2011. For other housing options, visit Housing Resources.
