Integrated services and a pathway to stability

The Richard M. Shulze Family Foundation Saint Paul Opportunity Center is an integrated one-stop location connecting adults to critical daytime services to improve their health, income, housing stability, and overall well-being. Services are provided in partnership with community organizations, including Ramsey County, Minnesota Community Care, veteran services, mental health care providers, and more.

This daytime shelter is part of Catholic Charities’ Dorothy Day Place campus, located in downtown Saint Paul. Overnight shelter beds are available across the street at Higher Ground Saint Paul Shelter.

Help in Action: Dorothy Day Place

In 2023, more than 8,000 benefit screenings were provided at Catholic Charities’ Dorothy Day Place shelter, connecting people in need with opportunities to set them up for more stable, sustainable futures.

Offering both permanent residence and temporary shelter along with a medical respite wing to serve folks recovering from hospital stays, Dorothy Day Place is an integral component of the Twin Cities emergency support network.
