Permanent supportive housing for men with alcohol use disorders

Glenwood Residence is a managed alcohol program that offers 80 units of deeply affordable housing in the heart of Minneapolis for people who have not found success with traditional chemical dependency treatment programs. This positive community benefits from a harm-reduction model of care that ensures safe housing regardless of sobriety.

Incorporating a managed alcohol model, Glenwood Residence offers one-on-one case management, structured goal planning, peer support services, and transportation services. Residents also have access to an on-site medical clinic and nurse with medication support.

Help in Action: Brad’s story

Brad started struggling with alcoholism early in his adult life. At age 42, Brad found himself looking for somewhere to go after he was kicked out of the apartment he lived in since his early twenties. That’s when Brad found Catholic Charities’ Glenwood Residence — where he lived for more than 20 years.

“The Glenwood has been really important for me. I don’t know where I’d be without it, I really don’t.”

– Brad
