April is National Volunteer Month

As we celebrate National Volunteer Month, we want to acknowledge our amazing volunteers! We know that we cannot do our work alone. Each year, more than 10,000 adults and youth seek emergency services at our overnight shelters and day service centers — where we meet basic needs with warm meals, laundry service, and access to a hot shower. Once we can bring people out of crisis, we’re able to partner with them to make connections to permanent housing, find employment opportunities, and so much more.

Our volunteers help make this life-saving work possible. Last year, they provided nearly half a million dollars worth of donated time through our meal service programs alone. Thank you!

Join us for a special Volunteer Appreciation Activity!

This year, we’re looking to recognize what you do for our community with a special opportunity to tell your volunteering story:

1. Pick up a Volunteer shift!
2. Snap a photo of yourself volunteering, and tell us why you volunteer with Catholic Charities.
3. Send your story, photo, and shirt size (unisex) to volunteer@cctwincities.org.
4. Receive a special edition 2024 Volunteer t-shirt!

Catholic Charities Twin Cities has used “if you want peace, work for justice”, originally a quote from Pope Paul VI (1972), as a call to action for many years. A core piece of Catholic Charities’ mission is to advocate for justice in our community. We know that the needs we see every day are symptoms of broken systems, and it will take all of us working together to improve outcomes for those we serve. Our volunteers are an essential part of our work towards justice — thank you!
