Helping elders build stable futures
Our Homeless Elders team provides intensive case management and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable, underserved elders experiencing homelessness who are facing complex barriers.
Professional case managers help elders develop an action plan, connect them to resources, housing, and other supportive services to assist with successful independent living.
Bill’s Story
In the Spring of 2019, Bill’s apartment flooded after heavy rains and snowmelt. Bill and other residents of his building were forced to evacuate, and he had nowhere to go and couldn’t afford a new apartment. After staying at the overnight shelter at Catholic Charities Dorothy Day Place for several months, Bill found the Homeless Elders Program. Through Homeless Elders, Bill was able to secure a permanent place to live.
He is one of more than 300 people that the Homeless Elders Program has helped since 2023.
