Gather your friends or coworkers for a volunteer outing at one of our meal programs, distribution center, or other locations.
Lend a hand
Every year, more than 4,000 people donate their time and talents to serve those most in need through Catholic Charities Twin Cities.
Volunteering is a great way to build community while supporting our neighbors. We can help you find an opportunity that matches your skills and interests. We welcome both individuals and groups to volunteer in various locations across the Twin Cities.
Ways to get involved
- Adult group volunteer opportunities
- Family and youth volunteer opportunities
- Court-ordered volunteer opportunities
- Student internship opportunities
Volunteer with the whole family or schedule a session for your school program or youth group to help those in need.
Complete your court-ordered volunteer time by lending a hand at our Distribution Center.
Help out with various projects and make a real impact in your community as a volunteer student intern.
Volunteers in action
“I started volunteering because I’m part of the Notre Dame Club of Minnesota, and I need volunteer hours. But I keep coming back here because I really enjoy it – it’s super convenient, and I get to spend my time helping people.”
– Dorothea Watson, Golden Valley
The number of people per group is dependent upon the project or task. Generally, groups of 3-15 people can be accommodated. We can, by special arrangement, accommodate requests of 20-100 people. Please allow ample time for large group projects.
If you want to bring additional people, please let us know in advance. We work hard to match the number of volunteers to the activity, and bringing extra people may not be appropriate for the activity.
If your group size changes, please let us know in advance.
If you are unable to volunteer during your scheduled time, please go to VolunteerHub and cancel your shift. This will open the slot to another community member who may want to volunteer.
Volunteers should wear casual clothing with closed-toe shoes. For those working in the kitchen, long pants are required. Outdoor work such as landscaping and weeding requires outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. We also suggest not wearing heavy perfumes or colognes or bringing expensive items to your volunteer opportunity.
All volunteers will receive a task description as well as training and supervision.
This varies with the opportunity. You must, however, be 18 years of age or older to volunteer independently. View current family and youth group opportunities for details.
