A safe place to spend the night

Higher Ground Saint Paul Shelter provides a safe place to stay for single adults experiencing homelessness.

This shelter is part of Catholic Charities’ Dorothy Day Place campus, located in downtown Saint Paul. Guests can access three hot meals per day and other supportive services across the street at the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Saint Paul Opportunity Center.

Help in Action: Higher Ground shelters

With locations in both Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Catholic Charities’ Higher Ground shelters are equipped with peaceful, naturally lit spaces and bunks that include electrical outlets, fresh linens, and space for personal items.

The shelters are part of a continuum of services, including emergency shelters, opportunity centers, and permanent affordable housing that provide a pathway out of homelessness and help residents rebuild their lives.
